Description

CABERGOGED contains cabergoline and belongs to a group of medicines called ‘dopamine agonists’. Dopamine is produced naturally in the human body and helps transmit messages to the brain. Cabergoline mimics the action of dopamine in reducing prolactin production in the blood. Prolactin is the hormone that stimulates the production of breast milk.

CABERGOGED is used to stop lactation in the period immediately following the birth of the child, an abortion or the loss of a pregnancy. It can also be used if you are already breastfeeding but do not want to continue breastfeeding.

Cabergoline can also be used for other conditions caused by hormonal disorders that can lead to increased prolactin concentration. This includes high prolactin levels caused by pituitary tumors in both men and women.
